  • Application fee processing and fee waiver review
  • International credential evaluations
  • Limited status admissions review
  • International and domestic admission processing
  • SEVIS processing
  • Financial documentation evaluations

Admissions Information

  • If you are coming to Coble Hall and require assistance of GPA, please remember to check in at room 203.
  • Do you have an applicant with a low GPA, TOEFL, or any other limited status admission? Please submit a letter of justification (LOJ) along with the admissions referral. The LOJ will need to be reviewed by Elizabeth Kibler.
  • When submitting international evaluation requests, please send front and back photocopies of the academic credentials. This information may be needed to fully determine academic eligibility. Please also remember to either keep a copy of the documents you are sending for evaluation or to just send us photocopies. We do not need the official/attested documents until you are ready to refer for admission.
  • When opening a sealed envelope with credentials please stamp or write on the credentials "received in a sealed envelope."
  • Please send individual evaluation requests as you receive the credentials to receive quicker turnaround time on evaluation requests.
  • If you have received final academic credentials for students admitted in 2007, please forward the credentials to GPA as soon as possible to have the transcript holds removed.
  • Please remember that if an applicant submits their International Student Verification Form online, we need your help! We need you to print out this form to be included with your referral and admissions packet for the applicant.

7 Reasons to send your admits to GPA as you make them:

  • All admitted students receive the official notification earlier in the process, and we have a better chance of competing with other institutions' early offers of admission.
  • International students receive the I-20/DS-2019 earlier in the process.
  • International students can schedule mandatory consulate appointments (SEVIS) earlier in the process.
  • International students have a better chance of completing the review process in time to arrive on campus before classes begin.
  • Less confusion for the admitted applicant (less phone calls/emails to the department and to GPA).
  • Students have better housing options.
  • Students have more time to complete McKinley health forms to comply with state requirements.

Admissions Spotlight

  • Do you want to pay an application fee for a new applicant with departmental funds? Submit the payment via journal voucher in Banner and contact Jackie Baker at jjbaker@uiuc.edu.
  • Have you received financial documents for an international applicant that you need help evaluating? Please don't hesitate to contact Allison McKinney (agrindly@uiuc.edu) or Elizabeth Kibler (bkibler@uiuc.edu) for help! We will be happy to review these documents for you!
  • We had a great turnout at the Academic Credential Evaluation and the SEVIS and Financial Evaluation workshops this year and we hope that you found them helpful! If you were unable to make it to a session or if you would like additional training, please contact Elizabeth Kibler (bkibler@uiuc.edu).
