1. NO CAREER SERVICES WALK-IN HOURS DECEMBER 4-5, 2007
The Graduate College Career Services Office offers advice on application materials, career exploration, networking, interviewing, and the job search process. Students are encouraged to drop by during walk-in hours (Tuesday & Wednesday mornings, 9:00 -11:45 a.m.) to visit with a counselor on a first-come, first served basis.
Regular Career Services Walk-in Hours are suspended during the week of December 3rd. The regular walk-in schedule will resume on December 11th.
2. LOOKING FOR A CAREER OR INTERNSHIP WITH A LEADING EUROPEAN FIRM?
The German Scholars Organization (GSO) is calling for résumés from graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and young professionals of all academic backgrounds and nationalities interested in exploring employment opportunities with research-oriented firms in Europe. In cooperation and conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) European Career Fair (Cambridge, MA -February 1-4, 2008), the GSO will host its 2nd Virtual Career and Internship Fair for interested applicants who are unable to attend the Cambridge fair. Applicant résumés submitted to the GSO-MIT Virtual Fair will be made available by the GSO to participating European firms of the MIT fair, whereby the companies will then contact their preferred candidates. Interested applicants must submit their résumés electronically by December 15, 2007 for review and sorting by the GSO and are strongly encouraged to submit their résumés prior to that deadline. (Note: The GSO observes the strictest of standards on information privacy and does not share submitted information with other parties. For more information, please refer to our FAQs.)

3. FISCAL AND POLICY ANALYST POSITION/INTERNSHIP
The California Legislative Analyst's Office is seeking applications for its Fiscal and Policy Analyst position and summer internship program. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 14, 2007.

6. THE GRADUATE COLLEGE CAREER SERVICES OFFICE
The Graduate College Career Services Office (GCCSO) assists University of Illinois graduate students with decision making and planning for career paths both within and beyond the academy. It is a centralized resource for graduate students from all disciplines, with services focused especially on the needs of graduate students in the humanities, the social sciences, the fine arts, and other areas in which students are not presently served by dedicated, discipline-based career services offices.
