Graduate Hourly/Assistant for Web Site Development
Graduate College Hourly - 20 hours/wk
The Graduate College is looking for a graduate or academic hourly to support development and maintenance of the web site for the Graduate College (www.grad.uiuc.edu). We will also consider a graduate assistantship. This includes updating basic content including electronic versions of the Guide to Graduate Life, Graduate College Handbook and the Thesis Handbook using DreamWeaver, web templates, style sheets, and campus guidelines, coordinating with the Communications Specialist to develop new content areas, such as prospective student information, and performing other web-related activities as needed.
America Reads/America Counts Program - Financial Aid Hourly - 10-15 hours/wk
This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising America Reads/America Counts undergraduate tutors. Tutoring sites consist of the Champaign and Urbana public early, elementary and middle schools as well as after-school programs at several community sites. The Graduate Coordinator serves as a liaison between the tutors, the tutoring site, and the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) to ensure smooth operation of the program. Graduate Coordinators have an opportunity to enhance leadership and supervisory skills as well as develop and improve communication and problem-solving skills.
Graduate Assistant, Program Coordinator
Academic Outreach Graduate Assistantship - 50 percent
The Office of Continuing Education's Academic Outreach division is seeking a part-time graduate assistant to coordinate its online and off-campus programs in the College of Education's Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The successful candidate will manage the programs and serve as a leader by providing world-class coordination to support students and faculty. Interested applicants should have experience with instructional design, project management, faculty development, and (some) media creation, and its application in online course design and delivery. This position reports to the Program Director/Co-Director of the Learning Design Lab in the College of Education.
Residence Hall Library System Hourly - 4-8 hours/wk
Tutoring in Math, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, MCB, and Computer Science is offered in the Residence Halls during the academic year. Tutors must meet academic requirements and a GPA minimum of 3.0. They must be able to communicate the necessary information to help students solve problematic areas. They must maintain a helpful attitude.
National Center for Supercomputing Applications Research Assistantship - 50 percent
The Innovative Systems Laboratory (ISL) at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) has a research assistant for the summer of 2008 to assist with the development and implementation of algorithms and applications on computational accelerators, such as those based on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), the Cell Broadband Engine, and the Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).
