Grad Research Assistant

Description:

The Computational Medicine Group of the National Center for Supercomputer Applications is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant to design, implement, and test modules for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science Cyberenvironment (Web Portal Developer). The work will focus on extending and implementing functionalities in already existing Open Source environments.

Responsibilities: 

Key responsibilities include writing, editing, and debugging java code developed for Liferay based Web Portals, and SQL queries. This position will work closely with user interface designers and other team members.

Qualifications: 

Required Qualifications: Good knowledge of Java programming language. Working knowledge of Ant and SQL. Previous software development experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Liferay or equivalent framework. Experience with Portlets and the Java Portlet specification. General web programming experience. Knowledge of database development tools. Familiarity with CVS

Compensation: 

Salary is set as equivilant to the Computer Science department rates.
