Conference Travel Awards
Deadline: September 14, 2009
The Graduate College will provide awards, not to exceed $300,
to support students who will travel to conferences to present
papers, posters, or creative work. Students may not submit
applications directly to the Graduate College, but should submit
applications to department offices by September 14, 2009.
(Departments should forward selected applications to the
Graduate College no later than September 21, 2009.)

Taking Charge: Building a Productive Relationship with your Adviser
Wednesday, September 30, 3:00-5:00 PM, Illini Union Room 407
Exploring some of the problems that occur in mentoring relationships
and what graduate students can do to help resolve them. The workshop
will include small group activities designed to engage participants in
evaluating the responsibilities of both graduate students and faculty in
developing a positive working relationship. Co-sponsored by the

Lesbian, Bisexual, Queer and Questioning Women’s Therapy Group
Tuesdays 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
This is a therapy group for lesbian, bisexual, queer, and questioning
women focusing on the various issues that impact LBQQ women’s lives.
The LBQQ Women’s Therapy Group is an opportunity to decrease the
alienation and isolation of being a LBQQ woman in a majority
heterosexual environment. Whether you’re out to everyone or
just to yourself, this group is a safe space to find support and learn
more about yourself.
