Graduate Student Emergency Grants
SEAL emergency financial aid grants to graduate students range from $35.00 to $300.00, and are intended to help relieve an acute, unexpected problem. Emergency grants are extremely limited and may not always be available. The applicant must be a registered graduate degree candidate from the Urbana-Champaign campus who is considered by his/her department to be a full-time student. The Graduate College will take into account both financial need and the applicant's efforts to resolve the problem.
Applications are available in 204 Coble Hall.
NOTE: Emergency Grants are funded by the Student Equal Access to Learning (SEAL) Fund. Students have the option of obtaining a refund of their SEAL fee during the seventh week of the semester. A graduate student who obtains a refund of his/her SEAL fee is NOT eligible to receive a grant from the Emergency Financial Aid Program during the term in which the refund is issued. No student will be awarded more than one emergency grant per 12-month period.
