SPEAK Appeals
SPEAK (Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit) Appeals will be heard by the Graduate College SPEAK Appeals Panel. For more information, or to make an appointment for a non-native English-speaking graduate student with the SPEAK Appeals Panel, please contact the Graduate College at 333-0035 or grad@uiuc.edu as soon as possible after the student's SPEAK score has been received from the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE).
Note: Questions regarding SPEAK results and the International Teaching Assistants' (ITA) orientation program should be directed to CTE at 333-3370. Please remind potential appellants that all SPEAK Appeals must be requested and scheduled through the department that is seeking to appoint them as TAs; students are NOT permitted to request or schedule their own SPEAK Appeals with the Graduate College.
